Housing Officer – Temporary Opportunity

RGB Recruitment is looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a leading housing association on a 12-week temporary contract covering neighbourhoods across Exeter.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, customer-focused housing professional who enjoys being out in the community, managing tenancies and making a real difference to residents.

The Role

• Manage a designated housing patch across Exeter, delivering excellent frontline housing services.
• Handle tenancy enquiries, permissions, sign-ups and property viewings.
• Investigate and manage tenancy breaches, including safeguarding concerns.
• Carry out estate inspections, ensuring neighbourhoods remain safe, clean and well-maintained.
• Work closely with residents, contractors and partner agencies to resolve issues.
• Support resident engagement and community development initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of tenancy and estate management.

 

What We're Looking For

• Previous social housing experience is essential, ideally within a Housing Officer or Neighbourhood Officer role.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy management, estate management and tenancy enforcement.
• Experience dealing with challenging situations and safeguarding concerns.
• Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.
• CIH Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards it.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work independently across a geographical patch.
